A Space Coast Double-Header

Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral S.F.S., FL. – In a Space Coast double-header, on Monday April 21, 2025, SpaceX launched two missions from two separate launch pads and landing both first stage boosters at two different Landing Zone pads located not far from their respective launch sites.

The first launch came at 4:15 AM EDT from Launch Complex 39-A, and the second flight was from Launch Complex 40 just 16 hours later at 8:48 PM EDT.

From LC-39A, SpaceX lofted the CRS-32 Mission with cargo for the International Space Station. With over 7000 pounds of supplies, food and new experiments packed inside the CRS-32 Cargo Dragon supply capsule, SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket and roughly eight minutes later, the first stage booster (B1092) completed its 3rd flight and returned to LZ-1 and ceremoniously announced its return with a loud sonic boom.

That same day, SpaceX launched the Bandwagon-3 mission delighting those along the Space Coast with another incredible sight and a second same day landing and sonic boom. This booster (1090) made its landing at LZ-2.

The sights and sounds of a “night launch” can be incredible and these two launches certainly fit the bill. From a sky “nebula” created by the rockets engines to the double sonic boom at landing, the Space Coast lived up to its title.
