BlueBird Taking Flight

Cape Canaveral S.F.S. FL. – In the pre-dawn hours of September 12, 2024, a Falcon 9 lifted off from Launch Complex 40 taking the AST SpaceMobile BlueBird Block 1 # 1-5 into orbit. Liftoff came at 4:52 AM EDT.

Wedged in between bands of rain, heavy clouds from Tropical Storm Francine to the west and numerous tropical activities in the Atlantic and Caribbean, SpaceX caught a lucky break and was able to launch a Falcon 9 carrying the AST SpaceMobile BlueBird Block 1 #1-5 into a LEO (Low Earth Orbit).

AST SpaceMobile based in Midland, Texas is the manufacturer of the BlueBird series which are equipped with communications arrays measuring 693 square feet & will focus on eliminating the connectivity gaps experienced by numerous cell phone users.
